Development of resort and hotels projects are quite challenging in the Maldives. Control and careful management of cost of logistics is the key for development. It is one of most important factor in the project management to deliver the project on time.
Although, previous resorts development were on uninhabited island of the Maldives, now there is an increase in development of resorts on shallow lagoons, where land reclamation and shore protection become one of the key cost incurring elements.

ADNAN ALI (Chief Engineer | Managing Director)
CIVIL, STRUCTURAL, CONSTRUCTION CONSULTANCY, PROJECT MANAGEMENT
B.Eng (Civil/Struct) M.Eng
Adnan is registered Civil and structural engineer at Ministry of National Planning, Maldives.
He graduated in Civil Engineering with an Honors degree from The University of Birmingham, UK, in the year 2000, and is a registered civil and structural engineer in the Maldives. He has been practicing in the Maldives and has designed a number of multi-storey buildings and civil structures.
He obtained further training in airport planning and design (Certificate, 2001) from Canada and airport engineering training from Airport Engineering Seminar organized by JICA, Japan. The training provided him knowledge of passenger terminal design and aerodrome planning. He worked as the leading person in airport planning and development of Ibrahim Nasir International airport for Maldives Airports Company Limited and was engaged in airfield planning, passenger terminal planning, airfield pavement design and engineering.
His capability in the transportation field was enhanced further with a master’s degree in Transportation Engineering from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. It has given him further capability in transportation planning, traffic forecasting, traffic modelling, traffic analysis, traffic management, crash prevention, and road and pavement design. He was one of the key person in the formulation and implementation of the integrated public transport ferry network of the Maldives in 2009.
In his career, he has engaged with several professionals and consultancy firms and carried out construction project formulation, feasibility, project consultancy, construction project management, from inception to completion. Engaged in numerous projects, ranging from housing, office, industrial buildings, condominiums and complex resort development.
AMINATH SHIUNA (Quantity Surveyor | Director)

BSc (Hons) – Quantity Surveying and Construction Management
Shiuna is a chartered Quantity Surveyor in the Maldives.
After completing a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management, Sheffield Hallam University, UK, via ICBT, Sri Lanka in 2014, Shiuna joined CVNG Consulting Pvt Ltd as the company’s Project Quantity Surveyor. Shiuna gained vast amount of experience in projects relating to construction management at CVNG, where she had also been working as a Quantity Surveying Technician since 2010.
Since her graduation in 2014, she joined Mspace as project quantity surveyor and worked for more than 4 years. Carrying out quantity surveying works including, building cost estimation at various stages of design, bills of quantities, certifying of contractors invoices during project management services. To facilitate financial institutions to compare building prices of different contractor, a comparison study called “Analysis of Bill of Quantities” were introduced. Such service were provided to MFLC.
Through CVNG she wishes to increase her service in the construction industry of the Maldives and aims to make the industry better.

Wazim joined CVNG Consulting in 2022. With his and expertise in the civil and structural engineering field, CVNG has improved its team capacity well to handle projects of more complexity.
MOHAMED WAHEED (Consultant Electrical & Communication Engineer)

One of the most important element in getting right in a building is its electrical and security system. The cables to be used in the installation and checking if the wiring being as per regulations in the Maldives is utmost important. Waheed’s expertise in the field provides sufficient information to CVNG to fulfil that gap. He has been working with CVNG since 2010, overseeing the electrical and communication components of our main projects. He has been practically involved at site.
Waheed studied at the University of East London and gained Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2008. Before going for graduate studies, he has been working in the industry since in 1992, started off as a trainee technician at the Presidential Palace of Maldives, where he gained experience and education as a senior Maintenance Officer. After graduation he served as a maintenance engineer at the same place.
He also served as the Project Engineer for the National Disaster Management Centre in 2009, and has been engaged at the Maldives Polytechnic as a lecturer since 2009.
Although, due to his other activities, he cannot attend day to day activities of CVNG, he will be accessible whenever the requirement arises.
HUSSAIN SOLAH (Consultant Electrical, Communication & Security Engineer)

Solah is a specialist electrical, electronic and security engineer working in the Maldives. He works with Civeng as a Consultant when requirement arises. For day to day activities, he has his special company, in the name of Deneb Pvt Ltd.
